Timeka Ford-Smith has more than two decades of experience in education, successfully leading several school transformation efforts, developing rigorous curriculum, and launching a cyber school in Pennsylvania. She brings a proven track record of educational innovation and systems-level leadership, along with knowledge in all aspects of school management, design, and development.

Believing that all students can learn when given access and opportunity, she has dedicated her 20 years of service in education to breaking down barriers to academic success for underserved student populations. In her work, she focuses on creating inclusive, high-expectation school cultures where all students feel safe, valued, and intellectually challenged. By aligning supportive student environments with strategic operational frameworks, Principal Ford-Smith ensures that true educational equality is a daily reality in every classroom.

Prior to joining ECPHL, Principal Ford-Smith worked as an administrator at the School District of Philadelphia, and as the Director of Gateway to College at Community College of Philadelphia. She has served as a principal in both district and charter schools, and taught several years of high school English, focusing on preparing young adults for college and careers.

Principal Ford-Smith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from West Chester University and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Cheyney University. She also earned a teaching certification in elementary education from Cheyney University, a K-12 principal certification from and a superintendent’s letter of eligibility from Saint Joseph’s University.
