Where are we located?

ECPHL is located at 1420 Pine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102.

This central location, within a block of the Broad Street corridor, makes it accessible to residents from across Philadelphia.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes.

    ECPHL is an open-enrollment school for students in grades 6-12 and serves students citywide. There are no entry requirements.

  • The school will open with grades 6 and 9 in the fall of 2026.

  • Yes, for the fall of 2026.

    In the fall of 2027 and 2028, ECPHL will continue to enroll new classes of 6th and 9th graders.

    Beginning in the fall of 2029, it will enroll only new classes of 6th graders.

    From the fall of 2027 onward, it will use the same Apply Philly Charter lottery to fill any available seats in 7th, 8th, and 10th grades.

  • No.

    When students reach 8th grade, they do NOT need to re-apply to continue to 9th grade.

  • No.

    ECPHL is a public charter school. There is no cost to attend.

  • Each grade will have 112 students.

    When the school is fully enrolled from 6th-12th grade, it will have 784 students.

  • 8am-3:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

    8am-1:15pm on Wednesday.

    These are subject to change and will be confirmed by February 2026.

  • For most holidays and breaks, yes.

    Wednesdays are early dismissals for staff professional development. Students end at 1:15.

    When students begin taking college courses (summer after 9th grade), their schedules will also match CCP course terms.

  • Yes.

    Every student will take 2 summer courses at CCP and receive a certificate of completion at the end of each course.

    Students who pass these courses with an A, B, or C will also earn college credit.

    ECPHL will work with students and families to remove any barriers to meeting this requirement.

  • ECPHL believes that every child deserves the preparation and support to succeed in coursework that sets them up for success as adults.

    When appropriate, ECPHL will connect students and families with local, culturally aligned resources that meet their needs.

  • Students who live more than 1.5 miles from 1420 Pine Street will be provided SEPTA student fare cards. We are exploring busing options for our 6th-8th grade students, with more information to follow.

    School staff will work with the School District of Philadelphia to arrange transportation for students with transportation services in their IEP or 504 plan.

  • Yes.

    As a graduation requirement, students will be required to participate in at least 1 extracurricular per year through school or another organization. ECPHL will offer academic enrichment, arts, sports, and leadership activities during and after school.

    Our founding students will play an essential role in launching clubs and activities and will continue to give input on future extracurriculars as the schools grows.

  • The school views parents and guardians as children’s first and most important teachers.

    ECPHL expects that parents/guardians will understand this is a school of choice, partner to support the staff in their endeavors to educate, and communicate directly if concerns arise. Parents/guardians will be expected to sign a school-family partnership agreement.

    ECPHL invites families to get involved by spreading the word about the school, organizing or attending events, providing input and feedback, and sharing their time or expertise.
