Who We Are

Mission & Vision

The mission of Early College Charter School of Philadelphia is to offer an inspiring 6th-12th grade education by fostering students’ sense of belonging and purpose, and by empowering them with the competencies, connections, and credentials for fulfilling roles in high-demand industries, along with the tools to learn and thrive throughout their lives.

The vision of Early College Charter School of Philadelphia is to serve as a model for educational equity by combining an innovative and relevant program, strategic postsecondary and industry partnerships, and broad community investment to serve its students’ life pursuits and our city’s greatest needs.

In 2023, a diverse team of 19 individuals inspired to reimagine education in Philadelphia came together to design the city and the State’s first brick and mortar early college model secondary school.

Over the next 18 months, this team worked closely with families, community leaders, colleges, and workforce partners to shape the school’s vision and design a high-quality school.

In November 2024, the charter application was submitted to the School District of Philadelphia. In May 2025, the charter for Early College Charter School of Philadelphia (ECPHL) was approved.

ECPHL is now preparing to open its doors in Fall 2026 to its founding 6th and 9th grade classes.
